Accounting Manager
Location: South Denver Metro Area, CO
Compensation: $130,000 - $160,000 Base Salary + 20% Annual Bonus
Schedule: Onsite during initial onboarding period, then hybrid flexibility available
About the Opportunity
A growing industrial organization is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations, lead a high-performing accounting team, and serve as a key business partner to operational leadership. This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on organizational performance by delivering accurate financial reporting, driving process improvements, and supporting strategic decision-making.
This position is ideal for an Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, Plant Controller, or finance leader with experience in manufacturing, construction, industrial, or project-based environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning activities
- Oversee cost accounting, inventory accounting, fixed assets, and project costing
- Monitor financial performance and provide actionable insights to leadership
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and treasury-related activities
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate external audits and support internal audit initiatives
- Oversee tax compliance activities, including sales/use tax and other reporting requirements
- Drive ERP and process improvement initiatives across the accounting function
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support strategic business initiatives
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
- 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
- Leadership experience managing and developing accounting staff
- Background in manufacturing, construction, industrial, or related operational environments
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost accounting
- Advanced Excel skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Preferred
- Experience as an Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, Plant Controller, or Controller
- Treasury and cash management experience
- Tax compliance knowledge
- ERP system experience in a manufacturing or operational setting
- Knowledge of project accounting and operational finance
- Experience supporting multi-department business operations
